Flagstaff is home to the Lowell Observatory. It was also named the first designated international dark-sky city 25 years ago. The first major LPS installations occurred in 1989.

Unfortunately not. I was driving (albeit tired) to the Grand Canyon for the sunrise as part of a school event.
