howdy folks, i've been eyeing the Qianshun/Glow Object offerings as a backup plan for my SOX lamps, to keep on hand should my existing Advance ballasts fail, and just out of curiosity to compare them to more traditional SOX equipment. i haven't been able to track down any of the Philips-brand Electronic SOX ballasts and these are the only other electronic offering i could find.

i looked at all the listings and pictures, and all the ballasts say 220-240V operation, so if i do end up getting one i'll need to track down a step-up transformer. no big deal, Digi-Key and Mouser have reputable hard-wire ones that won't break the bank.

all that being said, anyone have any experience running these ballasts on any of their SOX lamps? what do you think and how do they hold up to a regular old magnetic ballast? any input is appreciated and thanks in advance for sharing!

Looking for a bowl that would fit a 55w Philips MI36 lantern.  If it has the latches still attached that’s a nice bonus, but not a requirement. Need it to fix a fixture I have with a busted bowl.

If anyone over in the UK might have a spare or two, please get in touch! I am located in Canada, and will obviously pay for shipping and whatnot. Yes, I’m aware it will be expensive.

Ahh. I didn't noticed this. But usually when referring to emission of an element into the IR, I used to referring to spectral lines there, like in the case of Xenon in Short-arc xenon lamps, or Thorium halide, which also have spectral lines in the IR as well.
And I didn't noticed that I wrote "Spectroscope" in my former comment. Will correct this.
But there is another disadvantage that I don't know why it exist: Why short-arc indium lamps have very short life?
And the fact that the spectrometer needs to be calibrated, makes it hard to use, as if I would buy one of the cheap Aliexpress spectrometers that connects to the smartphones or to the computer, I don't know how to calibrate them.

HP320 is a spectrometer not spectroscope, as it outputs a *calibrated* spectrum and this differentiates it from DVD based toys.

No, Dy / or Dy based rare-earth mixes radiate more selective at visible wavelengths, and this among other things makes them more efficient in MH lamps for general lighting. Here is an example.

I don’t think FUL is linked to any brand.  It just follows the generic Asian nomenclature FTL, FCL, FUL for Fluorescent (Tubular, Circular, U-shaped) Lamp.

Prior to the FUL nomenclature seems to have been the American and Japanese FU for Fluorescent U-shape, commonly found in the lamp ordering codes.

Just a shame that your Aliexpress spectroscometer longest wavelength recording is 780nm.
But the only NIR emission I see, is the molecular continuous radiation of the indium, which is the same as the visible one.
And how the CRI is 92? The spectrum looks exactly like that of my my Aliexpress 14000K 70W indium lamp, except that your spectroscope unfortunately don't resolves the self-reversed dark line of the indium line.
I would expect the dysprosium also have liner rich spectrum in the NIR.

Well, here is a spectrum from somewhat overloaded 70W indium lamp. It is run at nominal power but already looks a bit overheated. Poor lamp design and/or reflector backscatter probably. Anyway, you see a nice CRI score, but significant energy spills into useless near-IR (beyond some-650mn) and also into useless UVA (beyond 400nm).

There is certainly an indium line inversion, but HP320 does not have a resolving power to see it.
